Blue Iris / Iris Bleu provides its services to you subject to the following conditions. If you visit or shop at our website, you accept these conditions. Please read them carefully. Besides, when you use any current or future service or visit or purchase from our website, you also will be subject to the guidelines and conditions applicable to such service or business.

SUBJECT OF ACCEPTANCE

All sales are subject to acceptance by Blue Iris / Iris Bleu.

We reserve the right to restrict the forms of payment we are prepared to accept and to vary other trading terms when dealing with specific areas as a precaution against payment fraud.

PRICE AND TERMS

Orders for antiques require payment in full. All accounts shall be paid upon receipt when invoiced. Orders must be paid in full, including taxes, freight, shipping fees, and service charges, before we can process the shipping. Blue Iris / Iris Bleu is happy to accept Credit Cards via Paypal or Square (credit cards accepted are American Express, MasterCard, Visa, and Discover).

You must supply us with your complete shipping address, phone number, and email address. You will then receive an order confirmation via electronic message with further payment instructions.
Your item(s) will be marked on this website as Sale Pending until paid in full. Once your item is paid in full, it will be marked Sold Out.
If you have an interest in a piece and need to check measurements, we will hold an item for you for 24 hours (or more, depending on your specific request). Therefore, if you see an item On Hold, it does not mean the item is sold. Please feel free to ask about it. We will be happy to notify you first if the piece becomes available.
Blue Iris / Iris Bleu reserves the right to change prices at any time.

The prices shown on this website are Retail Prices. Additional trade discounts are available for dealers, architects, or designers. Please inquire. Contact us to check for a professional discount. This discount is identical for all professionals. We have found that this policy works well, as designers and collectors can quickly determine if a piece is in their budget, and can make an informed decision to buy or look for something else that may better suit their needs and budget.

Items are final sale. We do not send items out on approval.

SALES TAX

8.00 % sales tax will be applied to purchases made within/shipped to an address in the State of Georgia unless a current copy of your Resale Tax Certificate is supplied.
However, we recommend that you supply us with a Resale Tax Certificate Number for all purchases made by designers, decorators, dealers, and other professionals. Thanks for your cooperation in complying with the Georgia State Sale Tax Regulations.

ITEM CONDITION

We try to buy merchandise in the best available condition or to restore it to perfection, but occasionally we buy items that have flaws that we do not restore. These items are always noted as such and are priced accordingly. Please do not ask for additional discounts for the flaws, as we have already discounted the item. Typically, age and patina on a vintage item are expected and desired. Remember, you are buying an item that is most likely 40 to 100 years old or more.

We want you to be confident in your decision. We also want your repeat business. We are happy to supply additional pictures and information on items that you are interested in. We do our best to accurately describe the size and condition of each item. We note the overall condition in general terms and we are happy to supply photos in a larger format for your inspection.

Please remember that most of these items are antique or vintage, circa 1920 to 1980.

Do not expect to receive a new item. This means in most cases, items have expected, age-appropriate signs. Condition is noted for each item and priced accordingly. We do our best to purchase merchandise in excellent condition, however, these items are vintage or antique and will show their age. If we have had an item restored or repaired, or know of any prior restoration work done, we will note it in the description.

In the antique and auction world, it is acceptable to have up to 30% of a piece repaired before affecting its value. All repairs will be mentioned in the description.

As an example, we use the following terms to describe item conditions. Please refer to this chart:

Excellent - absolutely no scratches or wear. It has no structural issues and is in perfect condition. Original condition unaltered.
Good - shows light scratches and wear overall from regular usage, but remains in good condition. Most antique and vintage items fit this condition. The items in this category have no structural issues.
Fair - overall scratches and wear from use, but remains in acceptable condition. The pieces may have some structural issues, including minor instability.
Distressed - worn, scratched, and roughed up, even if intentional. This includes gouges, cracks, and fissures. Other issues could consist of significant losses, fading, or structural instability.

DISCLAIMER

Antiques, by definition, are old, collectible, valuable, and desirable because of their age, beauty, rarity, or other unique features. The buyer must understand that certain antiques, by their very nature, bear wear, blemishes, or defects that are inherent to their age but shall not be considered defective goods.

SHIPPING

Shipping - General

We ship to any country in the world. However, we reserve the right to restrict the forms of payment we are prepared to accept and to vary other trading terms when dealing with certain areas as a precaution against credit card fraud. We can also ask the buyer to take compulsory insurance when sending is made towards areas where post deliveries are unsafe.
For items shipped via FedEx, we ship after the clearance of funds. Buyer pays actual shipping and insurance charges. We use professional packing for safety and insurance purposes, and the buyer must pay any additional fees, directly to the packing/shipping company (see information below for furniture shipping details).
The buyer is responsible for paying all shipping and insurance costs. International buyers are also responsible for any import fees and/or customs duties and taxes, as applicable for that destination country.

Shipping - International

For international sending, please inquire to receive a personalized quote.
We fill out all customs forms accurately. Please do not ask us to misrepresent an item to save on import fees/duties.

Shipping - Furniture Items

For the moment, we can only ship furniture items to domestic destinations.
All items must be insured for the full price value.
Please, contact us for delivery quotes.
We use only professional shippers.
You may, of course, use your shipper for any of our items.
Furniture items must be picked up within 14 days of payment. The customer is responsible for arranging the shipping unless otherwise agreed upon in advance.
After two weeks, storage fees apply. We are not responsible for items left over 30 days.

Shipping - Small items

We are happy to ship small items domestically. For the rest of the world sending, please inquire for a personalized quote.
All additional costs for special packing, duties, taxes, etc, are to be paid by the customer.
It is the customers’ responsibility to estimate and pay all taxes and duties.
Small items are shipped via FedEx.

Damage-Returns

If an item arrives damaged:

All items are shipped fully insured and you will have to file the claim. Please keep all packing/shipping materials for your claim and if possible take pictures of any damages. This policy is firm so please take extra care in examining your item right away when you receive it.
It is your responsibility to examine items on receipt.
Any damage must be reported to Blue Iris / Iris Bleu and the shipper within 24 hours of receipt.
Once the items have left our hands, Blue Iris / Iris Bleu is not responsible for any loss or damage as a result of shipping. The buyer is responsible for any damage claims, which must be handled directly with your shipper.

PRIVACY

We are committed to protecting your privacy. This privacy statement discloses what information we gather about you when you visit our site and describes how we use that information. Our policy is to keep the personal information we receive from our site completely confidential and used solely for internal purposes. We will not share your personal information with any other parties.

Use of your Personal Information: The personal information we collect may include your name, title, company or organization name, e-mail, and phone. We may collect certain information about your visit, such as the type of browser you use; the date and time you access the site; the pages that you access while at the site, and the internet address of the website from which you linked directly to our site. Sold Items: We have a firm policy on sold items; we do NOT reveal prices or the buyers of sold pieces as a courtesy to our clients. There are no exceptions, We will not respond to messages asking us to disclose this information.
