About:
MARCELLO FURLAN
Born in Venice in 1962 to a Murano family, he owes his passion for blown glass to his master glassmaker father. In 1984, after having studied architecture for several years at Venice University, he began working in his family’s glass business. He was responsible for designing and developing new decorative glass features and objects. In 1998, he started a career as a designer of lighting fixtures, paralleling his other career as a freelance graphic artist in advertising. His research, which stems from the study of natural and organic elements, has reinterpreted the traditional, classic form of the Venetian chandelier in a contemporary vein, developing modern solutions increasingly free from convention.
