Mercedes Robirosa, of Argentinean origin, was one of Yves Saint Laurent’s favorite models in the late 1960s and 70s. After participating in the catwalks of famous couture houses, Mercedes Robirosa started a career in jewelry design. Between 1982 and 1986, Karl Lagerfeld hired her to design and manage the Chanel couture and ready-to-wear accessories collection. Beginning in 1987, Mercedes Robirosa launched her line of jewelry.
