This elegant silver plate-lidded decorative box is by Italian designer Cleto Munari. The geometric modernist design features a minimalist shape with an interior in black velvet. The piece is marked underside: "Munari - Made in Italy - silver plated" and with engraved handwritten signature of the artist who creates the design of this stunning box (not readable). Munari produced designs in silver and silver plate by a host of his peers and friends, including Ettore Sottsass, Angelo Mangiarotti, and Carlo Scarpa, as well as re-making early modernist designs by Hoffmann and others.
