About:
Monique Vedie was born in the 1920s and has been a student of Line Vautrin in Paris, where she learned her famous Talosel process. When she established her company, Vedie designed cellulose acetate jewelry with rich colors, mostly fruits, flowers, and a few characters. Initially, the appearance of his pieces closely resembled the work of Vautrin. All her pieces are handmade and handcrafted. Her creations are not signed, but the style is unique and highly recognizable.
Before retiring in 1992, she worked with many prestigious Parisian fashion houses, from Paulette to Jean Barther. We also note her collaboration with couturiers such as Lanvin, Dior, and Ungaro. The signature style established by Vedie continues under the company "CILEA" by present designer Stephane Ravel. Cilea Paris mainly works for the French designer Françoise Montague and also under their label.
