Stunning original project drawings, hand-painted with color pencil on translucent tracing paper by French artist, circa the 1960s. The two paintings feature a geometric study of little robots in color variations. There is no visible artist signature.
These two drawings were purchased in France in 2005 in auctions in an important portfolio of sketches, all on tracing paper, in black pencil, and some in color pencils. The portfolio was dated from 1963 to 1968.
These surreal designs use a repetitive geometric shape with gradient colors that characterize a subtle play of shapes and tones.
We feel in this study, the aesthetic research with the alternation of colors aims to achieve the perfect harmony of the form combined with the color intended to bring joy.
The palette is bright, the geometry dominates, and the colors are juxtaposed to underline the rigor.
The artwork is framed in a modern black wood frame with gray and black matte and glass protection.
